    There seems to be some confusion about being able to setup a customized ringtone for individual contacts.

    This is hopefully going to clear some things up.

    Go into your contacts, select your contact, click on edit, scroll down to beyond the address field and birthday field, and there you can select a phone ringtone and a Message Notification tone.

    Done done and done

    Messages only does email and not text messages or bbm's

    um yes you can and your thread is misleading people to think they can truly customize ringtones to text/bbm as well.
    this thread is pointless since the how-to was posted on the main site 6 hours before you did

    Thanks for the link that I know about... And people have been asking how to customize their CONTACTS and that article is about how to load up your own ringtones!! I took it a step further thank you!!!

    sorry didnt read it. changing contacts ring/message tone was a natural to me since I figured it out on my previous bold
