Cool wallpaper effect when BB10 unlocks!

I usually couldn't give a damn about wallpapers but i found a really nice solution that i had not seen or heard of before which actually creates a little bit of the "magic" on my Q10 you would want to see coming form BBRY on the launch... but if it's finally here about a year late and not from bbry, i am happy to see it!

... is an apple-esque ioS7 background that has a great effect when you swipe up from the unlock screen...not even sure it's intentional and i have only seen it on a Q10 so i am not sure how it works on a Z handset but it's a great effect of the stars opening up to light. Sounds a little flaky but very cool and if we had a dozen or so more effects like this it would be amazing.

Just tried it on my Z30 , works good and your right it looks cool when unlocking.

The glowing fx have been there since day one on all devices. The better the wallpaper the more predominant the fx. I have a windows wallpaper that is a cracked windows 7 screen with a hole in the glass showing ubuntu. The graces glow like crazy.

Amazing, i have had BB10 devices from day one in the US and never noticed the effect before because the stock wall papers i was using really didn't highlight the effect. I hope BBRY still has the resources to highlight and refine just how good the os and UI can be. Seems shameful no one on the OS team was able to launch the devices or updates with a suite of wallpapers that highlighted this. These are the "little bit's of magic" that Apple does so well...and makes using your device just that much more enjoyable.

It's built-in. You just have to choose a wallpaper that has some bright colors in it (ie. stars in a space themed wallpaper)

The effect is cool and BB10 have many stylish effects.

Other mobily os are far behind bb10 style

Crop the image with moon in centre and set it as wallpaper. Its a nice effect when unlocking.

Just so I'm clear on this topic......you guys are just setting random wallpapers up and hopping for an visual effect when swiping from the lock screen?

I'm not sure what's so incredible about that. It's been part of BB10 OS since launch. If you really want a cool feature, wait till 10.3 comes out and you can have different lock and home screen wallpapers, that's going to be an awesome customizing feature.

Just enable the parental controls on your phone and there you go, 2 different screens. Its covered in the forums somewhere.
