I was playing around with my Q10 and realized that while holding shift, I can highlight words/sentences with my finger, just like how we were once able to do so with our trackpad on BBOS devices.

Nice catch! This works for me and I have 10.1 with .4181 MR, and I don't have to hold Shift, but just tap it once and then use my finger to highlight words, sentences and paragraphs.

Edit: this should be a sticky, as it's a valuable tip, considering text selection can be quite a painful experience for some users, me included. Thanks again!

Then I'm not sure why I can press Shift and select text when I don't have 10.2 yet...?? Weirdness.

Mind you, when I do, text selection seems to select a whole sentence or paragraph more often than a single word.

I just tested the "Shift" text selection feature in the Workahol app I just bought yesterday, and it works with it too.

Could other users who have the official 10.1.0.4181 mr check to see if the Shift feature works with their device? Confused why it works with mine, but others say it won't work with their device. Doesn't make sense to me.

I was just about to send this same response. It was driving me crazy. I'm on 10.2. Then figured it was only editable text. DOH!
