In the calendar hit 'b' to go straight to this

Or 'g' to go straight to a date

Or 'c' to create an entry. You can also just press 'd' to go straight to day view or 'w' to go to week view and 'm' to go to month view and 'a' to go to agenda view.

In CB10 on the main page, you can do the pinch gesture to filter by unread. As you can see, I have no unread articles. It also works in 'news' reviews' and 'editorials'. CB10 supports most of the hub keyboard shortcuts too such as spacebar to page down etc.

An alternative way of deleting items is to place your finger on it and 'drag' it to the dustbin in the bottom right. This works for other functions in the right hand menu too. Personally it's not for me but some like to do things that way.

Yeah, I love BlackBerry 10. I predominantly use my phone for communication and frankly it kills the opposition in that area. I acknowledge that other OS's are better in different areas like for instance, if you are obsessive about a quality camera, you probably want a Nokia or Xperia, or if you want all the apps plus the ability to customise, then Android will be your thing. If you want a good OS and all the apps with popular appeal and don't mind being chained to Apple, then go for an iphone. For me, with my constant business use and long emails, it has to be BlackBerry. The others would cost me valuable minutes in the day and of course BlackBerry is more secure. With just the naked OS and just one third party app (ClipMan) I'm on fire compared to other OS's and there reliance on apps to do things that the hub does. Every time you open an app or close one, you're throwing away seconds.

Sat here in the pub trying all these shortcuts. OMG this phone really is amazing. It does what you need the way it should be. Why do more people not know about these phones. Anyone who used a phone as a mobile device should be aware of the power and functionality of the BlackBerry OS. Amazing phone.

    Passport. The way forward.

I find it easier to tap the menu (3 dots at bottom right) and select refresh, I find this much quicker and far more reliable than swiping 4 or 5 times.

This refreshes the hub, but does not restart it. If your hub freezes for instance (hardly ever happens) you have to restart.

So swiping will 'reset' it? I thought it was a 'refresh ' same as menu refresh. Oh well, I've never had to reset anyway as it has never locked up on any of my 3 phones. I have found the hub awesome and pretty much faultless, and new features keep getting added making it better all the time. Guess I'm lucky eh?
    Thanks for the tip though.

Is there any sort of a printable "dummies" guide to all the different swipe features etc in BB10? It would be great to give to some of the new people who have been given work BlackBerry devices.

Here's what i never liked about this feature - when bb10 had that sms bug where you would open the conversation and was blank and you could not respond..."restarting" the hub never fixed it. An actual restart was required. Thankfully my passport and new versions of bb10 don't have the sms bug

Press and hold on the thin line displaying the day/date to get the option to Mark Prior Read or Delete Prior.
Also, at the top of the Hub swipe down to show your upcoming Calendar entries.

Yes, that was irritating, thankfully the 10.2.1 update got rid of it. 10.2.0 was worse than 10.1.1.

Hi, this should help. It's for the classic, but since we'll all be on 10.3.1.xxxx in a few days, it's relevant to all BlackBerry 10 handsets. http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2015/...ard-shortcuts/
