Is there an app for this? I could've sworn I was able to go into an email on my BBOS and have an option to add to calendar so that it's tied together. Or am I crazy?

It is built into the OS. Long press on the email (or from within the email press the overflow button) and select Add to Calendar.

Are you in the email itself? It has been there for some time. 10.2 at least.

If you are at your HUB screen it takes a long press on the message itself. Inside the email it is in the overflow.

also if all you want is a reminder you can flag the e-mail and it goes to remember as an un-filed entry.

from there you can edit that entry with a due date and reminder date and place it into a folder if you want

This is what I currently do and works great. This also creates tasks in Outlook if you have EAS and an exchange service.

I always thought the invite to meeting sent emails to the other people to add to their calendar which I don't want to do. I just want to add to my calendar.

Once you tap on invite to meeting, you can remove the participants.

I can't find a way to delete them but it gives me an option not to send to them so I'm okay with that until I screw it up lol

I'm trying to use "invite to meeting" to make a calendar appointment out of an email letting me know to pick up a prescription. My default calendar is Hotmail but it keeps saving it in a US Holidays Calendar or the phone's local calendar and won't let me change the calendar its being saved in. Any help would be appreciated.

When you click invite to calendar you should be able to tap the down arrow to the right of the lock and be able to change what calendar you want - obviously it has to be active.
