I don't know what it is in Twitter, but it has been the only contact account that has been stable throughout and I feel so has FB, but if there's a link between FB and email, problems may occur.

So far I have removed all Local links. I've kept UserPC, FB and BBM links, only if I had to, but most of my links are Hotmail / Outlook.

Where necessary, edit contacts with multiple phone numbers and email addresses.

I'll let you know by the end of the week and updates thereafter.

Isn't there anyone from BB on a level needed, monitoring particular subjects and forums important to them.
This has been a very long and tiresome subject, and feels almost as long as, I have been trying to find my contacts back.
Like my mum, a school friend, my doctors number and employer.
How important is it to have a phone, or is our phones just for playing games, head games or both.

Well after cleaning up my contacts online and re added them to the phone I got the double Name but not double contacts. After I again fixed them on the phone it hasn't double again yet. Knocking on wood.

I resolved one of my duplicate contacts issues. I was using the social connector in Outlook 2013, and there was a Linkedin folder under "people" that was getting synced to my phone via BES10 along with my real contacts. Once I got rid of that (view / people pane / account settings / uncheck linkedin) the duplicates disappeared from the phone.

The Linkedin contacts appearing on my phone even though I had linkedin turned off in the contacts app had been a mystery to me for quite some time.

I just edited the name of a street for one of my contacts. It was two names "Chandler Hawk" but it s/b "Haulk" so I simply used the cursor to change the "w" to "ul". Clicked "save" and the entire address street, city, state, zip code, DISAPPEARED!!!! It deleted everything except phone numbers!!

Thank goodness I had the address on my Q10 to re-enter. But Omg!! Wtheck?

Reporting back after a week.

Strangely, my contact app is working properly.

Outlook.com as a primary contact server is synced and FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and BBM are added and synced.
No SIM and local contact enabled.
Though I connect my Z10 to MacBook via Link, I have not enabled computer connectivity.

Let us see how this goes further.

No, timber ridge doesn't have email. Just phone number. I've since found this happens a LOT !!!!

It's as if the contacts in the phone app are a completely different app than Contacts. I have experienced this myself.

1. sometimes no names in my caller ID show up only the number

2. duplicate contacts

3. missing contacts that re appear sometimes or I have to BBM the person to ask

4. "Linking Contacts" adds the same number under the old one so some people i have like 5 of the same numbers

5. No perfect Gmail/Outlook sync that should sync all Contacts, Calendars and Notes. (BBOS could handle Calendars and Contacts seamlessly)

6. When you "Link a Contact's" number to a Facebook contact and then you backup and restore. Sometimes you lose that contact's number on the restore.

Do you REALLY think they don't know about the Contacts problems? They've already sold you the phone. BlackBerry is going down the tubes. They couldn't give a rats behind about you. . Think I'm wrong? When did Jon Chen last acknowledge the core issues with OS 10 and the consumer? When did he commit to making it right for the consumer? All I have read about is BlackBerry making new, cheaper phones and marketing business services to other Platforms. They have shown absolutely ZERO loyalty to the consumer, yet many just sit and drool over their "Zed 10" or "Zed 30" or salivate over how great Chen is when actually he's said absolutely NOTHING about a commitment to you or me. Your wasting your time thinking anyone at BlackBerry is listening. The BlackBerry ship has sailed and left us and they are laughing. The sooner we realize this and get on with our mobile lives the better. I can't afford another phone just yet but as soon as I can, I'm gone. This is ridiculous.

Got screwed on the PlayBook and then dumb enough to invest in bb10. I've got no one to blame but myself. And I do feel like they ignore their users and think we're a joke. They couldn't fix breakfast let alone fix the contacts app.

I really just can't seem to understand why the best mobile phone and mobile os in the world can't get the contact app to just do what you tell it. It's not like there are thousands of menu options that can confuse the os.

I've had my Z10 since the beginning of BB10 and every update we hope and pray that the contact app is the highlight of the next os update. No!! It isn't!!! Instead more enhancements to drain the life out of the poor little battery. Come on BlackBerry! Get your sh.... sorted you can't build a mansion on foundation of sand!

Coming from android to BlackBerry was great change and I really had to adapt. And as someone who has multiple contact accounts, even though I now hate android, i miss the fact that when opened my contact I didn't have to wonder in the back of my mind "who's contact info got merged with somebody elses".

At the end of the day if the customer can't make a call cause the contact was altered by some mixed up algorithm that does everything that it's not suppose to do, and freeze up when try to manually sort out the 500+ contacts. Then I'm sure you going to lose sales.

I have to agree in principle. Our upgrade is in a couple of weeks and it's looking like all 4 of us will be iPhone this time around. Never thought I would hear myself say that.

I have nothing linked. And every day it's something else. I just want local contacts. Is that so much to ask?

No one on Crackberry staff even uses a BlackBerry anymore!

I had no issue when I just used local contacts, which were entered by me.

A week later, I found two of my contacts missing. (Very hard to find which contact as I am having multiple accounts synced).

Found out two contacts have merged with other contacts. Reason: Mobile number of these contacts are same and as per logic, they should merge. Ultimately that was my fault as I have entered same numbers for two contacts. Typo of course.

Btw, why BB10 waited and merged them after all these days is mystery though?

Fb, InLn and Twer are where they need to be.
