It's surprising how the wifi performance nose dived since 10.2.1. I used to have nearly all the wifi spots on my phone at home, but now I only see a couple of them, while my roommate can see all the surrounding wifi spots (He has SGS4).

Well N has far less reach than G does.
Ummm, where you getting that info from?

It's a fact. Look it up. N does not travel as far as G does.
    I did before posting.

    G broadcasts on 2.4GHz.
    N broadcasts on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Range on 2.4GHz is usually better than 5GHz (and that's my personal experience, too), but the range of a N router at 2.4GHz isn't less than a G router at 2.4GHz. It should be equal or higher.

nope. You are mixing 2.4GHz vs 5.0GHz

In basic terms, 802.11n is faster than 802.11g, which itself is faster than the earlier 802.11b. On the company website, Apple explains that 802.11n offers "greater performance, more range, and improved reliability".
You can find a chart here: What is 802.11n? How is it different from 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11a? @ EveryMac.com

I confirm too, I used 1779, 1889 and they sucked at wifi. So I went back to 10.2, and wifi rocks. There is approximately 50 meters between my device and the wifi and no problem with connecting to internet.
