How can you whitelist an unpatched app, if the app can't be installed without patching?
I mean, the only time the app shows up in Whitelist, is when it's installed. But without patched apk no install, so no option to whitelist. Seems like a dead end, no?

You Whitelist the apk file in the download folder (or wherever you have the downloaded apk file stored in). You need to read the instructions for Whitelisting.

Now I've downloaded Pokemon Go 0.31.0 from half a dozen places and each time Whitelist 1.0.0.5 gives error:
"Fatal error: Cannot read meta-data from package!"

You don't need to whitelist pokemon, 1.0.0.5 has it done already. Just "write defaults".

Then everything worked again, except on wifi, not when I'm on 3G. Yesterday, I tried to start the Play store app again (while on wifi). It didn't load. All other Android apps didn't load as well. Any solutions on how to fix this?

Here is the frustration. Most questions have already been answered over and over again. A simple search would bring up those answers, if not on CB maybe on other sites. It seems that the newbie or Millennial doesn't show any initiative on their own to search and find those repeated answers, preferring to be spoon-fed. It's even more frustrating when the answer is the title of a popular thread or in the first post of said threads. How many of those answers to many questions is "Read the first post"?
Prove to me a proper search was done, procedures followed properly, and if one still has issues then I am more than happy to help.
I'm running out of spoons.
