It looks like an insulated case, I have the BBW update on 4 BB10 phones from my household and none of them have issues deleting android apps.

To what degree might the removal of the API key affect apps which were patched previously? Can we expect that GMaps integration will be completely absent or is there any hope that some function will be maintained with update 8.4.89 (4)?

Everything continues to work with GPS build 4.previously patched apps are not affected.

Did you not read what Cobalt wrote??

....you MUST update Google Play Services to 8.4.89 Build4 (its on the first page). Remove the existing version of Google Play services before you install the new build. Do not update!

Hey Cobalt,

thank you for your great work!
I'm trying unsuccessfully to get Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) running. I followed the instructions on page one and have Google Account Manager, Blackberry Google ID and Google Play services installed. AFAIU the Google Play store itself is not needed to use GCM. To test, I use the GCM Quickstart app. The token is successfully retrieved and send to the server but I did not receive messages. There are no errors in /dev/log/main. On real Android devices the GCM Quickstart app works as expected. Did I miss something?
