So if you open the Blackberry Google ID app you see your Android GSF ID?

You can try to remove all 3 apps, redownload them from the Play Store post and start again from scratch.

And one other idea. Did you by accident turn of mobile data in some kind of Android optimizer app? To verify, you can download the Android settings app from post 1.

    Dear all,

I want to install the latest version of Google Play Services. Which is the "cleanest" way to uninstall the old one I have right now in my phone? And, do I have to reinstall also all the other Google apps like Google ID, maps, etc?

Long press icon, hit trash symbol, done.

Other apps don't have to be updated, but newer versions always contain bugfixes. So it's a good idea to update all apps to the latest available versions.

Thanks for the quick replay. I was worried that way would leave some trace of the previous app and create problems

    Will do that, thanks again!

Use the Mega app, not website. Website will throw errors on mobile. You can copy link and then paste it into the open link option in the app.

The good thing with my solution is, that everything runs in the user context, and not in system context as on Android devices.

This makes it easy to install, easy to uninstall and the apps have absolutely no access to the OS (which is security relevant).

Is it possible to use snap as the store and this solution for Google services or its best to use all the services provided by Cobalt ?

Why bother with Snap, particularly if you have Google ID, Account Manager, and Google Play Services all installed and running anyway?

No rationale behind it, just got used to it. However since some apps require play services looked at Cobalt solution as alternative.

Well, you could use Snap instead, but, unlike the Google Play Store, you will not have the ability to purchase apps, make in-app purchases, or download any apps that use obb files. Snap can't be set to provide update notifications either.

I'm ok with that, only interested in some apps that require google services.

Google Play Services has nothing to do with what Play Store Client you use - whether Snap or Google Play Store.

    Hey Cobalt,

First a HUUUGE shout out to you for all this work.

Question: so I installed everything, seems to be running well. But with Google Play Music, I get a notification saying "Google Play Music relies of Google Play services, which is not supported by your device..." Does this mean I need to patch Google Play Music? Or do I ignore this error as it seems to be working...?

    Thanks again!!

The simple answer is that there is no reason to continue to use snap. Don't make it harder on yourself just because it's what you're used to. Go all the way and use the real Play Store and take advantage of the additional options it provides.

    Hi Cobalt,

After updating to 10.3.2.2474 I can't get my Z10 to work with Google Maps 9.14 or older versions. After installing Google Account, Blackberry Google ID, Google settings and Play store with your files, I try to install Google Maps from the Play Store but everytime I open it and I get to the screen "Accept & Continue" it crashes.

I might be missing something....could you please shed any light on how to make Google Maps to work with BB 10.3.2.2474? Any other app I've tried so far works well with this method.

    Thanks in advance!

All apps that ask for Google Play services must be patched. This removes the signature check and the app will then recognize my patched Google Play services as if it was from Google.

Of course the pre-patched Google Play must be installed to make it work.
