Google Play Services 7.5.73 (Android 2.3+) just came out officially 06/05/2015. (1976294 - 030,032,034,038). I tried patching each of three of the new versions (030, 038, 034) but none will install and I gave up. There must be additional IT magic involved or it is incompatible with android runtime on OS10. Any thoughts? Be kind - not a programmer

Google Play Services requires special treatment, it can't be patched with Gmaps Patcher or Lucky Patcher. Also, we always need the 036 versions, as they are optimized for 320 dpi.

I'll patch that version sometime later, because the modifications are horrible to implement. You'll be fine with the 7.5.71 version I posted.

BTW: The new implementation for user based Google+ signature whitelisting is now implemented into Google Play Services and the new signatureTool. I will post an update later today.

Cobalt - you might have solved a great puzzle, for the benefit of the many, but I want to hear it in your voice alone, given how many negative voices there are. I am considering buying a Blackberry Passport, but want to know about Google on that phone:

- Can I get Google Play running
- Can I download and use: Gmail, Maps, Youtube, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Photos
- This can all be a technical set-up and/or hack, no problem, but does it break the phones general security capacity
- Is a phone with those customisations likely to be bricked by BB

Following Cobalt's instructions in the first post of this thread, I have Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides working for two different Google accounts, one personal, and one managed through work. I've been able to edit documents in Docs. I've yet to try Youtube, and Photos hasn't let me sign in either patched or unpatched (says I need Google Play Services)...yet.

I don't have enough knowledge to answer your question about security.

Obviously, I'm *not* Cobalt, but I think that if BB was going to brick phones that had the Google stuff running on them, they would have already done so, given the workarounds have been available since last October.

Thanks. I am perfectly happy with the current version - works well! I have not seen an 036 version.
BTW - had a 252 and a 250 a few years back. Used it to put a down payment on our house, lol. Miss it!
