But the apk's themselves for paid apps don't save on the latest version. I have to back up the downloaded app using ES File Explorer to get the apk for a paid app. It does work fine for free apps though.

Here is a paid apk downloaded from snap, not sure why it doesn't work for you, but I've never had any issues.

I'm not sure why that's happening but I know it isn't supposed to. If it's really working for you enjoy that while you have it.

Only thing I can think of is that perhaps some sort of indicator that snap uses to determine whether an apk is "paid" or not has changed in the Google api, and snap is accidentally copying it over thinking it's a free app.
That, or he's on an older version of snap (though I do believe him that he's on the newest version, as he specifically mentioned the version number and is an experienced cb'er).

It has been reported that Play Store Downloader doesn't work with 10.2.1. I looked into the code and found a possible issue that could cause problems. What exactly happens on 10.2.1? Does it crash? And if yes, when? Right after starting a download?

Yes, as soon as you hit install and pulls up the Play Store Downloader, it crashes with a prompt that it has to close. You get through the whole process fine before that. I am in 10.2.2 and it does the same.
All the other stuff actually installs fine and works, except the actual download and install process.

For those who want to be able to download paid apps (that they've purchased), check out raccoon Raccoon - Google Play desktop client | Onyxbits . It's open source and well-known to be secure. If you have any doubts you can always add 2-step authentication and use an app password. Works well for me.

I am running OS 10.2x on my Q10 and installed androids apps from Snap. I started seeing these videos on my gallery which play for 2sec and are 53kb in size. They keep downloading using my mobile data and fill my phone storage. The file names can be clearly seen in the pics as "xsample_for_ffmpeg_test.mp4" where "x" stands for digits. Can anyone tell me how to stop this or tell which app exactly is making this file download as I already wiped my device yesterday and installed the apps yet, the stated file keeps downloading.
    Thanks

Any idea what android apps you installed around the time this started showing up?

I installed each app at 2hrs intervals so I can detect the faulty app but after I finished, I didn't see anything but like 8hrs later, when I woke up I saw the videos. I uninstalled the last 5 apps and waited but the videos still came. I decided to use the device monitor to check the last app that used mobile data at the same time frame the video was downloaded but no luck.

Yup... I would love that as well. Also is it possible the Google id app pull our login data from the Google login app?

Very nice . You should check out raccoon's source code to see if there's a way to enable paid app downloads .

Play Store Downloader pulls all required data automatically. Just leave username and password blank. Also the Google ID is automatically retrieved from Blackberry Google ID app.

I think u r misunderstanding. I meant the Google id app itself. We have to sign our Google credentials then "check in" I was suggesting if possible you could look into it automatically pull that data from the Google login app like the app store and Google maps apps do.
