Gmaps patcher can patch versions 5.x itself. Version 6+ cobalt has patched for us (see first page) , and is still very much "beta". Just because there's an update to play services doesn't mean you'll see any benefit. In fact, usually it introduces even more complex and unnecessary features for cobalt to have to parse through to get to work on our bb10 devices.

    Hi Sally Mack,

Okay. So do you suggest and is it wise to take the GPS 6.1 beta version for the BB OS 10.2.1.x for the update?

Did you install the patched gsf cobalt posted awhile back? I find that causes the error more frequently when installed.
Hey Sally. I installed the latest one that Cobalt posted in this thread a few days ago. I'm getting a lot more of gaaps has stopped/google services framework has stopped type errors. It isn't completely nusable but still really annoying for it to pop up every ~2-5 minutes. Would you know if any particular version or patch that Cobalt has developed is causing a more frequent occurrence? Is it happening in your device at all? Thx

The play services has stopped message has begun to pop up every 10 seconds on most apps. Now I've just downloaded play services 6.xx beta. Seems more stable so far. Will report back on how it goes. Much fewer message pop ups!

Wow that was hard to post. Yeah its actually making all my android apps practically unusable now. Short of a complete wipe of the phone is there a way I can uninstall these patches and maybe start fresh? It wasn't so bad before when I first downloaded them months ago but it's just popping up every 10 seconds on most apps.
You should remove all old files and redownload the current versions from the first page. No need to wipe.

Still same problem "Play stored stopped working"
I think I will have to life with it because I'm on 10.2.1.3062 and I don't want to install leaks

On 10.2.1 I recommend play services 5.x, and no other apps like androidid or gsf.

For 10.2.1 stick with play services 5.x.

Yes. Because Android apps must not be sideloaded. Copy the file to your device with Blackberry Link, then install it directly from the device.

Thx for the quick reply. What I'm after is Google music. Have you had it working. I press add account and nothing happens. And there is a notification that says Google play services needed. Can you help me?

Simple install cobalt's Google login services, and add your Google account via settings --> accounts --> add account (under third party accounts, "Google account" should be listed).

Once that's added, Google music should be automatically logged into that once it's opened.

And you can get rid of the Google play services error by installing the Google play services 5.89 apk, and patching the Google music apk using cobalt's lucky patcher solution detailed in his other thread.

It appears we've made a bit of a breakthrough here (whether intentionally or not).

In previous attempts, we (aka cobalt ) was not able to get Google play services to find the network location (different than gps location). Most users didn't know any difference, since their apps were able to find gps location.

Now, I can confirm in my testing that network location is in fact working. I don't know what made the difference, but this is my setup (all files found in this thread):

    Z10STL100-3/10.3.0.1418
Cobalt's patched Google play services 6.x (beta)
    Cobalt's Android id app
Cobalt's gsf v3 (around page 18 of this thread)
    Google login services
    kfroese and moody like this.

Doubtful. Many have tried -- there's a giant thread on this topic alone somewhere in the forums.

Thank you very much. It's working good. A little choppy, but after all this time the native GO MUSIC Is this buggy. Now what do you mean about patching the apk.

If the app is working without any errors, no need to patch. If it was giving the Google play services Pop up nags like some other apps do, you'd have to patch the apk using cobalt's windows-based patcher, or his lucky patcher apk. I'll leave you to read about that in the forums if you're curious .
