We are suing ourselves into oblivion.
We pay lawyers a lot of money to bring these types of lawsuits.

And the result is we've seen lots of these lawsuits.

    Hmmmm...

    Yep, it's a self-perpetuating circle. A vicious one.
Not a productive one, either, in my opinion. With the odd exception.
On balance I believe it's detrimental to society.

    Good joke. Lol.

BlackBerry actually promised updates until the end of 2016, where 10.3.3 was supposed to be Mar 2016, and 10.3.4 in Dec 2016.

NIAP took so long, that 10.3.3 got us all the way to the end of the year, with the latest versions of all of the apps, and the latest browser certificates. No longer a need for 10.3.4.
It's been mentioned multiple times before but BlackBerry actually promised 10.3.3 and 10.3.4, not that they are worth much.

You may believe your post is pretty clear but it's nothing more than a summation that 10.3.4 will not exist, you incorrectly corrected the OP in saying support through 2016 was the promise, however BlackBerry actually said we will see a 10.3.3 and 10.3.4 build. That's the nub.

This is a largely irrelevant debate, your summation may be correct, that doesn't change the fact BlackBerry haven't delivered what they promised and to a much lesser extent in the time frame they scheduled. The prospect of a lawsuit based on that is farcical but then I don't live in a country where lawsuits are brought willy nilly.

So, when BlackBerry said support would culminate with 10.3.4 in December 2016, what is the relevant, most important element?

You really do have a bad habit of passing off your thoughts as expert facts without any sources. Just because you're (I think) some sort of IT technician that is involved in deploying blackberry devices within a small organization does not make you an expert or give you the right to pass off opinion as fact.

The only mention of 10.3.4 on their blog site says "even more security improvements"; at least 10.3.3 had NIAP certification as an end goal. I guess promising nothing for 10.3.4 does mean 10.3.3 brought what it would add already, then.

No, that is not my job.

10.3.3.2163 and 2205 appeared on the production servers in December of 2016, which contained the newest builds of all of the apps to that point.

When BlackBerry said we will see a 10.3.3 and 10.3.4 build, that was the relevant information.

I'd suggest little should be invested in proposed release schedules, especially when it is outlined prior to the release of the previous version. Schedules slide, we are seeing new internal 10.3.3 builds which debunks your belief that support ended Dec 2016.

It's largely irrelevant whether a 10.3.4 branch ever exists, considering both 10.3.3 and 10.3.4 were billed as maintenance and security updates.

    Hello,

Does anybody have any document, terms accepted where clearly indicated that BlackBerry must provide software support for an x period of time to a certain product in this case a smartphone? I think the answer is cleraly NO. Unless somebody can clarify?
So basically we have NO case here whatsover?...
Yes fully agree for some this is not what they want to hear. But BlackBerry is not the first or last company that launch products and then retires them and no longer supports.
All decisiones based on economic results without a doubt.
Yes have my loved BB10 devices not being used anymore. I made the decision to something else which was BlackBerry Android but that is my decision nobody elses. Honestly do not know what the future holds? Admit did try iOS but just could not get used too it. So the closest experince out there that I could find that was "close" to the amazing BB10 devices was the decision i made re BlackBerry Android. Personal choice. Thats all.
    Just my thoughts.

You already got your updates to the end of 2016. It's just not called 10.3.4.
Here in Germany T-mobile and Vodafone cancelt 10.3.3 - I use a Passport SE, 3 month old, just tried again, still on 10.3.2. Also use a BlackBerry Classic, 4 weeks old, just Trier again, still on 10.3.2. -My daily driver is a Priv, 11 month old, it receives the security updates very late since March 2017.

I don't want these experiments. BlackBerry official website says over the air and 10.3.2. That is official. Otherways are good ment but experimental.

No. All autoloaders are official, and from BlackBerry. The only problem is getting it from your carrier. I'm suggesting you jump over the middle man.
