Cisco Jabber - Sob Story
I have been avoiding using my PassportSQW100-1/10.3.1.2576 for anything other than making calls and taking pictures since last couple of months...just to avoid the pain of knowing most business applications which I need aren't made for BlackBerry OS 10.
But....I have been setting up new branch IT for the company I have been working for since last 8 years...I have deployed Cisco BE6K as IPT and Presence platform there...This has nice feature of being able to install Cisco Jabber on iOS, Android and be able to manage office Audio & Video Calls via these devices. I was super excited to know Cisco Jabber has Android version and it's requirement matches with the Android version PassportSQW100-1/10.3.1.2576 has.
Installation on PassportSQW100-1/10.3.1.2576 went smooth, login was error free. Dialled first call and it did connect but only Audio was present so disconnected the call and tried once again...
And there there...I can dial only one call...For second call I must terminate Cisco Jabber application and start again...just one call there after and again terminate the application for next call...
Cisco Jabber works flawless on other iOS and Android devices of other users....
I am so super disappointed at this....I have put the Cisco Presence Infrastructure in place and I can't use it with PassportSQW100-1/10.3.1.2576...
Super Disappointed....:(

Well, I guess when they say "Give your teams the freedom to be productive from anywhere, on any device...." They aren't being completely honest, now, are they.
I don't get Jabber anyway.

We recently also installed Jabber although it is without the phone call option via mobile device.
Android version works well for messaging. Although it's still a shame that it's not able to sync fully with BlackBerry Hub and be a headless app like a native app. Not holding my breath as I don't think this day will ever arrive, will just be happy it can run at all on the passport.
