Hey everybody, BlackBerry told us before the launch, Cisco WebEx and AnyConnect will be available. I think WebEx is in BlackBerry World but AnyConnect isn't. Is this app coming or not? And is it possible to sideload the AnyConnect android app?
i"d love to sideload it, but i can't find an APK or Bar file anywhere for it. just starting sideloading today so i'm a bit noob at it, but i'll take what i can get for AnyConnect. I've been pestering cisco over twitter for a few weeks now and they still keep referring to me to this article: Cisco WebEx & AnyConnect Coming to BlackBerry 10! - BerryReview
That would be nice if my network support guys would tell me what settings to use. Every time I ask, I just get told to use AnyConnect or a mobile OS that supports it.
Yea the built in VPN function is too complicated to use. I dont know any details about the network and the university just tells me to use iOS or Android as they have Cisco AnyConnect
There is a good chance that sideloading won't ever work, as the Android Anyconnect app hooks pretty deeply into the operating system for its security functions. Did they happen to give you the settings to use in the anyconnect app?
if by settings you mean the ssl website to point Anyconnect to, then yeah, but that's all. and IT won't supply any more information than that due to "Security" reasons. (i also have my username and password, but i assumed that was a given.)
I emailed CISCO Tech Support today and they said: "There isn't any information available regarding when the Cisco AnyConnect VPN will come out for Blackberry10 OS".
Back to the 8900 for me then, at least I can get my Work Emails via BB Desktop Redirector.
Anyone have an update on anyconnect? This is a pretty critical app in the enterprise and all trails have gone cold.....I know cisco has been at multiple keynotes and this was confirmed as coming to BB10? It's ridiculous it's not here yet.
How to: Connect to AnyConnect VPN with BlackBerry 10 Devices
Solution:
On your home screen, slide down from the top of the bezel and tap Settings.
Tap Network Connections.
Scroll to the bottom and tap VPN.
Tap on Tap to add new VPN profile.
Enter whatever you would like for Profile Name
For Server Address put anyconnect.missouri.edu.
For Gateway Type select Cisco ASA.
For Authentication Type select XAUTH-PSK.
Under Group Username AND Group Password enter tigernet.
Leave Hardware token unchecked.
Username is your pawprint.
Password is the password associated with your pawprint.
But Anyconnect only asks for server address, username, and password - nothing about Group Username or Group Password...
AnyConnect won't work that way, there needs to be an app. If it's not here yet, I have a feeling it's not coming. Should ask Marty malik, I believe he's in charge of that
You obviously haven't managed a Cisco ASA unit before. Cisco Anyconnect is a Cisco proprietary VPN client that allows a user to connect to a specified network from anywhere in the world without the need for two level authentication. However, you can more than likely also connect to the same network with the xauth-psk method as long as the ASA has been configured for it which in this case it has.
I guess. In this case they do have it turned on since they gave a group username and password. Therefore this user can get in using the BlackBerry VPN feature.
my university is also using Cisco AnyConnect. Peregrineay's post is very helpfull and it works! I got all important passwords and group names of the 'How To - iOS' info of my University and now I can connect to the network from wherever I am.
Did anyone ever get this to work? I was thinking about downloading the Android version but it isn't available for some reason on Amazon App store. It shows online but not within the App store app.
So frustrating, tried the following:
- Went to Google Play to download the APK. Get a critical component missing error when running and the application closed.
This is the one I used: AnyConnect ICS+ https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roid.avf&hl=en
- The Amazon store has a Kindle tablet version, but it wouldn't allow me to install it.
