It is much easier to use Sachesi:

Seems like you have some complex issues both with your computer OS and BB10 OS. Chrome is not crashing while sideloading Snap and the app is working perfectly. You need a wizard to diagnose what's happening. No one can help you based on information you provide.

Sounds like you need to fix your computer.
Try downloading CCLEANER on the pc.
    Run it.

OP, Did you download Snap to a computer first, plug in your phone, and SIDELOAD Snap using the Chrome Browser on the PC?.... or what?

Yes, I did so...but now the problem is that it wont download unless the app is open, it cant be minimised to an active frame. If done so, the downloads encounter error and that's it..!

Go to app permissions in settings and give Snap permission to "run when minimized"

I'm not talking about what permissions it asks for when you first installed it. I'm talking about permissions you give an app in device settings.

You are stopping the download manually when you minimize the Snap app...these are cellphones, not desktop computers. I never mess with my phone while downloading an app. It may corrupt the download anyway. Have some patience and relax as your downloads complete and install. There are more than one step to an android app install anyway...
