Does anyone know how I can change the file permissions for items on the device?

I have extracted a zip onto the device and I can't save edits of the files, just new versions. I also cannot delete the original files.

Have tried bb10 file manager, OI, Ghost Commander and Astro.

Any ideas short of wiping the device?

I'm not sure if BB10's terminal apps can access user files, but if they can, navigate to the folder above the folder that holds the contents of the unzipped archive.

    Then, type:

    chmod -R 777 unzipped_folder (whatever it's named)

    Not sure that'll work either.
