CellNinja sent me a BBM message asking me to check out PlayStore in Beta Zone.

I suggest you do the same.

It streamlines all of Cobalt's hard work into an extremely easy to install and understand step by step guide with the proper order to install the APK files. At the end, it tells you to donate directly to Cobalt's paypal.

This is what those who have trouble following somewhat advanced instructions need to do to get the play store installed.

I can't see this getting out of beta and in app world... I'd be very surprised if it did.

Unless BlackBerry employees are just randomly activating apps or the developer has sneaked those capabilities in, then +1. Nice job though!

The native app is now shown in Beta Zone.

But is it worth to use this app instead of Cobalt's official Play Store app?

    It's practically the same right?

I don't need this app as I found Cobalt's instructions easy to follow, however I thought I would check it out. I think this is a great idea. Unfortunately this is what I get when I click on "Agree":

Perhaps Cobalt had the plug pulled, or the Beta Zone admins did.

    Hi, I'm CellNinja.

This is exactly the same as following Cobalt's instructions on his thread, but here's why I've made it.

I was using Snap for quite some time, and always wrongfully thought that Cobalt's method needed some hard to follow instructions to get all things running. When Snap stopped working, I had no other choice than loading Cobalt's tools and install Google Play Store. I was amazed at how everything went smoothly, and I thought why did I initially thought it would be a pain?

I think it's because I was messing things up, like patching an apk that relies on Google Play Services myself with Cobalt's tools and installing already patched apk for Google Play Store.

To make sure other users don't fall in the same wrong assumption as me, I decided to create that little app that gives you all the steps and includes all apk right in the app, so it should really be easy to install.

I really enjoy Cobalt's work, that's why I created this app. I've included a link to his PayPal inside the app and I don't try to promote my own apps inside PlayStore app, as I don't want any credits/advantages for Cobalt's work.

If you like my app, please consider donating to Cobalt.

I imagine Rodger will just update the App again?

Would probably be better if it downloaded the files externally so it's easier to update (little online version checkers are very easy to do)

Exactly, I will update the app if a new version of any Cobalt's apps is available. You'll get a Hub notification for the update even if you deleted my app, you will be able to decide if you want to upgrade Cobalt's apps or not. Without this app, you'd have to monitor his thread to know if there are any new files available.

Thanks. This is very handy. I'd lost snap when I sent my passport in for repair. This was much more convenient. Cobalt is something else. His Android BlackBerry APKs going the other way have been a huge boon for me too.
