You can spare six seconds while your phone negotiates communications with a network of satellites miles above earth... can't you?

But if you must, here is my use case: I have a blackberry because I need to be productive, every second is valuable to me. If I accidentally hit the cell network icon in quick settings I lose 6 seconds. Why do I lose 6 seconds? Because someone decided to make a modal dialog for this setting change. I don't get what their reasoning was, why not do it in the background?

Why do I feel that one day, you're going to complain that the camera app opened when you accidentally pressed the button? Are you really blaming BlackBerry for your own mistake?

Most of the responses are too harsh. It is definitely a break in flow to have this blank screen and light-coloured box pop up and force the user to wait for zero output.

It would be better to perform the task in the background and display some kind of busy symbol instead of signal bars.

It's not a long wait, but this shouldn't be an excuse. We should expect high UI standards of our BB10 OS.
