Cant seem to turn on the "Allow BBM calls over mobile networks" on my Z10???
The option seems to be locked?

You sound surprised. Carriers have been doing this for, literally, years now.

All of AT&T's Android phones have Google Talk VoIP/Video Calling locked to WiFi, for example. Apparently, only Apple users are allowed to use these things without loading up a third party program.

Uhm, which carrier did you buy it from? The carrier you bought it from is the one that would have locked it I think.

American carriers still don't sell BB10, so no. Either hss an unlocked one from a Canadian/UK carrier or got it from the 30th event.

too bad you can't get the phones straight from the source. i'd guess that there would be no locked features. i'd pay full price straight from BBRY than the discounted carrier contract version. you were eventually able to buy the playbook direct so hopefully we'll see this in the future.

if you delete the vendor files (assuming that's possinble), could you enable that feature?

Do you have your phone on AT&T? I called them up before and they said that they dont have the stocking codes for the phone yet so they cant update the phone into there system.
Also, do you have OS 10.0.9.2372 and whats your phone model (STL100-3) ?

No, I'm not on AT&T but you did the right thing... you called the carrier and got your answer as to why it's not working yet.

Hey, I also got my phone direct from BlackBerry at the event on the 30th and I'm on att. Checked with blackberry support and they confirmed that att is blocking this feature. The story you got from att about not having the codes for the phone yet is bs. Don't you just love these "Unlimited" data plans?

Fixed did the OS reload from the blackberry.com/update and now it works flawlessly

hmmm... got the latest OS update... still locked out from "Allow BBM calls over mobile networks" - my contacts that do have BBM video (Z10s btw) don't even show up in my Contacts List filter -- Video Chat Contacts. (carrier is Rogers)

Might need to talk to Rogers and find out why, it could be your data plan isnt compatible with BBM calls.

Im on Rogers and can confirm that i can do bbm calls via 4g/lte Must be the carrier who's blocking it... att im not surprised at all its normal procedure...

Guys the feature is not locked on my phone, but I can make a bbm video call only when I am on wifi, irrespective of the settings, and I van receive calls on both wifi and mobile network. When on mobile network, the button on the top right for video chat is grayed out and if i tap on it it says this contact is not available for video chat. And immediately if I connect to wifi and try again I can make the video call.
Any ideas pls.
