Don't do security wipe... install the os and then restore ur backup... i had this problem I. every leaked I've installed.. i came up with this idea not to do a security wipe and all went ok.

What version did you upgrade from? I do not do a security wipe prior to restoring. It is redundant since reloading the OS with an autoloader effectively does the same thing. After loading the OS, I dis have some problems with restores a couple of times and found, based on advice here, that it is best to do the restore in two stages, apps and media first and settings second.

What you have to do is,

1. Install the leaked os
2. Run through setup but don't login in your BBID
3. Restore using link it will said device is not associated with BBID
4. Hit cancel
5. In your phone login to ur BBID
6.restore now using link and that's all

** If the restore process stuck at 100% just reboot the device by holding the power button for 10 seconds and everything will be restored **

Are you coming from 10.2? If so you need to edit the backups manifest.xml....

just upgraded from the official 10.1 version to 10.2 and now I can't restore my files using link!! tried rebooting and everything!!! My z10 keep restarting when I try to restore files... please help me?

4537 has been the first leak OS where I've had problems restoring a backup.. I'm coming from 2354, and the first time, it claimed my device was not associated with a BBID (it was) and to solve this, I had to unplug and replug from my PC a couple of times before Link finally realized that there really was a BBID associated.. Then it came up with a strange error that it couldn't restore because I didn't have a personal partition on my device (huh?? It's an entirely personal device, no BES, so WTF?) Another unplug USB, replug, retry the restore and it finally figured itself out.. I have a feeling that I was trying the restore way too soon after installing the leak: hub was not up yet, and there was probably still a lot of background processing happening.. Anyways, an hour later, the restore completed and it rebooted, I got the service provider screen, and then the device promptly went dead- black screen, no response to touch screen, no response to buttons.. Held the top button down for quite a while, got a couple of blinks of the red light and then it booted up, all my data, all my settings and apps were there and working fine, and everything has been OK ever since... The backup/restore process is something that BB has got to fix and make work 110% perfectly. There can be no instances of people not being able to restore their data, otherwise, why bother with backup functionality in the first place?

Try doing a partial restore, media and settings first and then your application data. This has worked for me with troublesome backup/restore issues.

You're using the exact same BBID right?

Go to settings. Tap on "about os" and change device name to the one you were using on previous version. It shows on Link also. I usually use my first and last name.

Guys found a fix install new leak it will work no need to do anything special !!!!! SO RELIEVED!

Editidn't work..... thought it did.... well I am trying to figure out something with debug tokens maybe...

I did restore phase by phase. First I installed the media and then the applications data. I installed the setting data last. It works for me

It's a bug with that leak,yanked my cord and ran restore again. Worked ok.

I had serious issues with restoring data from 4537, tried virtually everything I could think of ended up just starting back from scratch.

Same here I tried everything and even updated to latest leak didn't work..I just started from scratch like you did..For the apps I just download them again from the available list in BlackBerry World.Contacts were all on SIM and email.Accounts just typed them in..Settings redid everything but I lost all my application data....

Guys I am trying to find out a fix !Everyone who has this problem please specify which version you had before upgrading..Did you have any debug tokens installed with native android apps?Which STL you got?
