If not already done, just restart your phone without the headphones plugged in.

When you plug in headphones that is the default max volume. When you try and go higher than that it gives you a warning box, read the warning; if you still wish to go higher than the default max hit continue.

I believe some countries don't allow headphone audio boost and thus limit the volume output. Where are you located? Maybe this is your problem.

It's just that the audio boost option in the settings is replaced by an alert when we cap a certain threshold.

Wrong. There is a HUGE difference in max volume with AB enabled.

Your carrier is disabling this function. Like the OP my Classic didn't have audioboost available. When I cancelled my verizon account and put in a T-Mobile SIM, the function reappeared after reboot!

Remember how some carriers disabled BlackBerry Bridge because they wanted to charge money for tethering? It's the same principle, they can gimp your phone any way they see fit.

Your carrier will deny this and blame BlackBerry, but they are responsible for blocking any missing features.

I'm pretty sure Audio Boost and going over the threshold are the same thing. And I don't think it's carrier specific per say, but due to a geographic segmentation (or a legal one if you prefer). In Europe mainly, Audio Boost option is not possible. Instead the consumer is alerted if he caps a certain threshold. But the result stays the same

Same here on my Verizon Q10; I get an alert that it's unsafe and to press cancel to stay at the threshold or continue to go over it.

Considering I have listened to the same phone with the same headphones with the feature disabled by Verizon and then not disabled by T-Mobile, I know what the difference is.

    But... believe what you will.

You can try another set of headphones or headset, try the booster in settings or if the worst comes to the worst crank the headphone volume to the maximum then do a clean autoloader using the factory. bar files to clean out network provider lockouts, this will give you an extra 10-15db per watt of output on your headphones!

Did you really not see the screen he posted? It's... not... there!!! I don't know who his carrier is, but I know that if I put a Verizon SIM in my phone, the feature would disappear again.

I don't know what to say. That screen shot I took was without headphones. Ask the OP about their version.
