Just received my Classic and have installed drivers, Link and Blend. I have no problem connecting with Link to my Win7 machine, but Blend keeps telling me to enable the connection via Settings which it is. I've re-installed the software a couple of times, but still can't connect. This is with both USB and wireless.

    What am I missing?

I know other people have said Win 7 is an issue with Blend. I have 8.1 and there are no issues.
Maybe look up a little research at the BB site on Blend and different Win versions? Sorry I can't help you. I did the same things you did and my Z30 works.

    I have .1154

Yeah, I've already checked that screen. I changed the name of the device to Classic, but Blend recognizes that. And as I said I have no problem with Link.

I'm going to try on my laptop which is Win 8.1. Maybe it is a Win 7 issue. Thanks, guys.

Edit: nope, I get the same issue with Win 8.1. I'm wondering if it has to do with my changing the name of the device. Is there any way to get the default name again without having to reinstall the system software?

I tried creating a whole new BlackBerry ID, but then realized I'd lose the ability to reinstall paid apps. And, on a side note, the Q10 I used to have still keeps popping up as a device even though I've removed it. Is there a way to permanently remove it's association with my BlackBerry ID?

You have to allow device connections and turn on Blend on the phone. Doing both of those should fix it.

What I ultimately had to do was reset the software, even though it was a PITA. Renaming the device must have confused the initialization process and I never got the key prompt. I kept getting renaming errors with Link, but because that was connecting fine, I didn't think anything of it.

So now I'm back to the default BlackBerry name and everything's ok. I'm all connected and probably will never use Blend again, lol.
