I see what you mean. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to recognize google as a page and the 'Add search' item doesn't show up in menu. Neither does Bing! I wonder what is special about duckduckgo that it works with that feature?

Edit: adding just adds to browser search. Not sure how to add to the search 'app' extended searches yet. Would love to find out how. Might just be something they are still working on.

After updating to 10.2.0.1047 I've lost the ability to search and have various websites appear to search from. Even google is gone. Wondering if anyone else has had the same issue or has a fix.

I now need to open the browser and search instead of just typing and hitting enter.
did you mean this? it's there on mine

I now updated to 10.2 with Sachesi and my search engines were gone too at first. Tried resetting the search engines with no luck, so I just added DuckDuckGo again which also only showed up in the browser.
I noticed that the hub and my media card were reindexed so I just waited for that to finish. Now that this is done the search engines are back in the search app.

    So.. did you restore settings?
No matter what I do after restoring settings, the web search options are no longer avail from the search app. I've just about everything. I use alternate search engines as well (ddg and youtube), so yea, I've tried to add them as well, with 0 success. I've also tried settings backups from both 10.2 and an 10.1.

If you've got this figured out, there's something I must be missing

It doesn't recognise Google and Bing because its already saved by default. After you add DuckDuckGo the add search option is also gone.

I updated via Sachesi so I didn't have to restore anything. The search options just came back some hours after I completed the update.
Did you add the desktop or mobile version of YouTube? The add Search button never showed up for me with the mobile version.

Mine were also gone in 10.2.0.1047 until i did a few things. I don't know what specifically fixed the issue, but i got mine back.

    1. Go to search\settings and check that nothing is there under extended and then close search app
    2. Opened browser\settings\toggle search suggestions to ON
    3. At same screen I hit the "reset search engines" button.
    4. Went through all of the other tabs under browser\settings but didn't touch anything
    5. *Close* browser
    6. Open search again and start typing something to search.
    7. Choose web and let the browser open the search. Close the browser
    8. Go back to search\settings\extended and the ability to toggle search providers should be back

*Sidenote* - after de-selecting search providers and closing search app my phone seems to either forget which ones i de-selected, enabling ones I don't like, and disabling ones I do. Can't complain too much as my search is now back.

You have to go to youtube desktop .

What os were you running prior to 10.2.0.1047? I updated via sachesi from 810 the first time and they were gone. I didn't wait though . Maybe I'll go back to 810 and update via sachesi again.
    Thanks

I just had to "reset" as shown and everything came back to normal.
I loaded 10.2 from 1.0.4687 and after restoring, I backed up and wiped the device.
Finally I restored from the new backup and did the search engine reset.

    Does your Android player work?
I never tried 4633.. I tried 4651 and 4687. Upgrading from those two 10.1 os using sachesi broke my hub.

I'll try that.. I'll go to 4633 and use sachesi to upgrade. But your Android apps are working right?

I tried resetting search engine, clearing browser cache, disabling/re-enabling search suggestions... no go. Is there a way to specifically delete browser preferences/settings?

My search options (Google, Bing,Yahoo) also showed up unexplainable.

I did do a battery pull which may have helped. Worth a shot.

Had exactly the same problem...i then added duckduckgo as a search engine by following this tutorial : http://www.usofttech.com/t59391.html
And the magic happened : all search engines are now back and showing from search on home screen !

What's broken with your hub? It took about one hour until it was available for me after the update, so you may just have to wait a bit longer.
Android player is working for me, but I used the one from 10.2.0.810 as some people said that it's better than the one from 10.2.0.1047.

If I upgrade via sachesi from 10.1, my hub is solid black and doesn't load and the is locks up. I just tried from 4633 too, didn't work :/. Upgrading from 810 using sachesi worked tho, but still no search

I didn't do anything particularly special. Bing, Google and Yahoo were there the whole time. Wikipedia was going to the English Wikipedia main page and adding it to search with the right-hand menu.

I did do a security wipe after install, and I didn't restore from a backup, if that did anything.

OK, so that really narrows it down to a restore, probably settings. I suppose I will wipe again and reinstall everything manually, again. *sigh*

Did a battery pull but no help so I extracted the .bar files for the search and browser from the 10.2.0.1047 autoloader using Darcy's tool and reloaded it using Sachesi. Still missing Yahoo, Bing, Google as extended search options!

So I extracted the .bars from .810 and tried loading those, but that also didn't help restore the extended search engines!

I do not want to do a full reinstall and wipe again to fix this, especially if there's no guarantees it will do anything.
