I've searched everywhere but cannot find the answer to my problem.

I have a new Q10 and I'm just trying to add my gmail. I enter all my details and it fails. I go to macbook and sign on just fine but google security says it prevented blackberry from signing into my account. So I look everywhere in my google account settings to disable it and can't find anything..

Do you have TFA enabled?

I think, you have first to turn off the "two step authentification" in google, to get the thing set up first.

In your Q10, in the settings, accounts, chose "add account" and then click on the first one: "e-mail, calendar and contacts" then add your gmail adress and go through the process step by step from there, adding your current habitual password.
(you can also add the account in the hub-settings)... I prefer adding the accounts from the Phone-settings.

Once you did that, go back to google and reactivate the two step notification. Then, in the google settings, request an App-Password, I think google gives you a 20-digit-pw so you input it in the already setup phone account, so it bypasses the two-step-authentification.

went into advanced settings and it just worked. i hope 10.3 fixes this.
