    Cannot access google calendar (BB10).
This message appeared today for the first time. It turns out the old way of accessing the calendar using CalDAV has been depreciated and I can't get the "new and improved" (apidata...) method to work.

    From Google's support site:
    https://developers.google.com/calendar/caldav/v2/guide

Has anyone else seen this error and managed to fix it?

    Thanks
    Rob

    Hey Rob,

I've been having the same issue as well and I found this link: https://developers.google.com/calendar/caldav/v2/guide

It looks like the new address could be: https://apidata.googleusercontent.co...2/calid/events

I tried to replace the 'calid' portion with my email address but that didn't work.

    Connecting to Google's CalDAV server
To use the CalDAV interface, a client program initially connects with the calendar server at one of two starting points. In either case, the connection must be made over HTTPS and must use the OAuth 2.0 authentication scheme. The CalDAV server will refuse to authenticate a request unless it arrives over HTTPS with OAuth 2.0 authentication of a Google account. Attempting to connect over HTTP or using Basic Authentication results in an HTTP 401 Unauthorized status code.

If the client program (such as Apple iCal™) requires a principal collection as the starting point, the URI to connect to is:

    https://apidata.googleusercontent.co.../v2/calid/user

Where calid should be replaced by the "calendar ID" of the calendar to be accessed. This can be found through the Google Calendar web interface as follows: in the pull-down menu next to the calendar name, select Calendar Settings. On the resulting page the calendar ID is shown in a section labelled Calendar Address. The calendar ID for a user's primary calendar is the same as that user's email address.

If a client program (such as Mozilla Sunbird) requires a calendar collection as the starting point, the URI to connect to is:

    https://apidata.googleusercontent.co...2/calid/events

The old endpoint https://www.google.com/calendar/dav is deprecated and no longer supported; use it at your own risk. We recommend you transition to the new endpoint format described above.

I'm a little out of my depth here with this. Maybe some one else can chime in? In the mean time I'll keep poking around with it

I had the same issues for the last couple of days.

I dropped my caldav account on the device, then recreated it with the old url.
It has automatically changed to the new one.

    https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v...lists/default/

(you have to replace "myid" by your email)

In my case it doesn't go thru with the new address! If I create it again it defaults to the old/previous server address and it still works...

I just tried deleting and recreating my caldav account with the old url. It kept the old url (as entered) but still isn't working.

The error message that appears says ... "Account Info Needed. Your login information for account (Caldav:Calendar..) has changed or is incorrect. Update your lgin information and try again."

Is this same error message you guys are getting?

    Thanks

    Hi guizmox

I gave that a try and got a slightly different error message.
"Your account Caldav:Calendar - my_email cannot be authenticated with your service provider. Please make sure that the account settings are correct."

hmm.. what would my service provider have to do with it?

In Gmail security setting there is an option somewhere to generate a BB specific calDav password. Start there

Weird... I had no issue, without doing something magical... did you dropped the account before ?

Thank you!! Creating an app specific password fixed it.

You weren't kidding when you said "..option somewhere..". It took a while to find the instructions.

Hi, could you tell me how you managed that? I created an app specific password in the google security settings, but I don't see where to put that in my Passport... I've been to settings, accounts, in Calendar settings for that account I see no password field...

Edit: never mind, found it here: https://www.ganzernsthaft.de/blackbe...webdav-caldav/

Ok, so I don't try to change existing parts of the account (mail, calendar and contacts), instead, I should delete the account and recreate it with the app password?

Hello OS10 Community - I've tried all the suggestions and Gmail still not establishing calendar or contacts. Although my outlook accounts are fully established. But my Gmail accounts are only letting email be established. Could shift to outlook calendar but my principal email is Gmail.

I'm really not ready to get a new device...but it may be time. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

For contacts please follow this guide carefully.

For calendar use the same guide but instead of selecting CardDav, use CalDav.
    Also substitute the server address with this;

    https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/events

I haven't tested the calendar part but will when I get a chance.

Thanks, it worked like a charm for calendar. Do you know if I now turn off "allow less secure apps", will it sill work or get blocked by Google?
