I didn't want to change my phone number but I needed to block a couple of creeps. Missing Mr number call block on my old torch I didn't like that none of the android side loads for call blocking worked on my new q10. Long story short... I did a work around. I created a free Google voice account and did conditional call forwarding on my phone. After they call me once, I block the number and if they call me again (and I reject the call or send it to vm) they get an out of service recording! I hope you find something that is easier!! Let us know hugs

not sure about BB10, but in os7 there's a firewall in the security setting that blocked anything not in your contacts,,, take a look in there,,, i don't think you'll be able to block specific #'s unless you have your carrier do it,,, sometimes you can do it on the carriers' website in your account...

I asked Bell and they can't do it. Rogers can but it's buggy and is hard to enable. There are parental controls that allow only calls from people in your contact list (thanks, CJH_ for that one).

If you're okay with the call ringing until they hang up or go to voicemail, create a new contact named "Ignore". Add any unwanted numbers to that contact, then go into custom notifications and set both ring and vibrate to off. The call won't disturb you, but it's not a true blocked call.

I disabled my voicemail service so this works perfectly for me.

Do businesses typically need to block people trying to call them?

You can add any number to the "Do not call " list on the government website...easy to do. On any computer search "Do Not Call". Input your email, phone # and the number to block. Not only will it be blocked but your number will appear to the offending party as a bad number. They won't call again. I use it, it works.

Of course, you don't want your business phone to be spammed by telemarketers and their cousins.

You may not want this but there is a way to filter who txts your phone. If you go to security and privacy and click on parental controls you can turn on the filter that you do not receive calls or txt by a number that isn't saved in your contacts. You would never get a notification from them but any unknown number would not be able to contact you though.

Sure! All you have to do is revert back to an old BlackBerry all of which had the ability and apps to do that. The ability to run headless apps ( needed for a call blocker app) was to be in 10.2. But it's not. It is however on the map for OS 22.3 coming in a few short decades.

Yes, not having basic legacy functionalities in a new system is a sore point for me.
