I don't know whether it's been spotted earlier or not.. now you can clear app data directly from device monitor but only applicable for Android apps.

Old news buddy :)
Pretty, even.
Agreed. Now why is this not available for native apps?

Golden question

It would be good to know what exactly gets deleted.
Some messaging apps, for example, store your messages and profile data on your device. Deleting the app would delete all of your conversations.
SO, does deleting the cache delete those messages? Also wondering if this could cause some apps to freak out.
Thread title changed.
I had never heard of this until now. Thanks for sharing!
Deleting app data for an Android app would cause it to behave as freshly installed; if it had never been run. Some apps will store selective data on the SD card, but the app will still act as it had never been run.
