    Hey wadewiz,

    The short answer is yes, you don't need Link. Blackberry Desktop Manager will not work with BB10 devices regardless, so there's never any need to install that.

    No, you don't need a network connection, as mentioned upthread.

    Be aware though that an autoloader will COMPLETELY WIPE your device, so you'll want to make a backup of your data before using it. For that, you will need Blackberry Link, Sachesi, or Darcy's Blackberry Tools if you want to backup everything including apps, or the Ultimate Backup native app if you just want to backup data and files.
