My friend has a Playstation and while watching YouTube on his TV via his PlayStation he was able to control Youtube using his smartphone phone. He has a Motorola MAX HD Razr (or something like that). It a fairly new phone and he loves it.

Does anyone know if the either the Z10 or Q10 will be able to control Youtube? For example, when YouTube is on the TV screen, you get a message from the PlayStation that allows you to "pair" up your mobile phone so you can control YouTube. For example, you type in your Search, you can scroll, etc.

Any comments would be great. I don't have any BB10 device. Thanks.

Yes, you can. Go to the mobile youtube app in the browser. Open up the menu on the left side (button that looks like 3 bars), go to settings, and click "Connect to tv"

I have to give credit to Google for making their mobile youtube site fully featured. They could've screwed BB10 and WP8 by withholding these features, but they didn't. Good for them. Though they did worse in other areas.

Wait are you saying that you have a BB10 and can't do it? Maybe we'll get clarification, I hope.

Either you're the one being sarcastic, or you didn't look hard enough.

Go to youtube in your browser. Pull up the side menu, and hit settings:

Now, do you see the option to connect a TV?

Yes it works that way but i think you must pair the devices each time you what to watch something.

Android and ios have so many apps to do this directly, for example with imedia share, twonky beam, also with bubble upnp works also very well. you search something on the smartphone with youtube and than you can beam it to tv.

this is much more easier than pairing it with the tv each time.

i wish that someone make some similar app for this for BB10.

Just to follow-up. I finally got my Q10 and got it work with Youtube. Thanks for the input provided. They were most helpful!

I'm learning to really like the Q10. There's some things I still need to adjust to, but the HW is really cool.
