I tried it; and it just shows the last message on the screen, but it does not verbally read it to me.

    Is mine broken?

What is even worse is that it gives me an option to reply or forward right away without even giving me a time to read the message. Why can't it read my message?

Not sure why yours doesn't, I'm on 10.3.2.858 and it works with no issues. "Read last message" reads aloud the most recent message whether it's a text, email,or BBM.

Mine does the same thing: I say "read my last message" and then it opens the last message and asks "what would you like to do?". I simply say "read it" and it just reads it aloud. It also has buttons at the bottom for "reply" and " forward".

Same as above. Once it opens last message you still have to tell it to read it but then it works as expected.
