The older style is definitely much, much better.
Why can't they shift the numbers over and use more vertical bars to represent various event types.

Can't agree more, especially when you think those pictured calendars existed for far less powerful devices, with smaller and lower resolution screens.
Now we have all these gigahertz strong multi-core units, gigs of RAM, big screens in HD and the calendars are worse than ever.

The calendar in 10,2.1 was a step in the right direction.

The calendar in 10.3.1 is a regression to a less functional state. At least for me

The 10.3 calendar is too gimmicky to me. The old one was very easy to read. This new trend to make every layout look like on a Fisher Price toy is just gross.

I'm currently using the 10.2 calendar and think it's great. I also had the 9900 and can't remember it that well to say which I liked better.

I do like 10.2 calendar over 10.3 which I used for a while.

I hope BlackBerry NEVER use these formats shown above. They are horrible. Totally not user friendly.

Please stick to the one they are currently using & for improvements look at the Palm OS for suggestions.

This thread full of lols, tbh I would dread reverting back to pre BB10 calender, looking at the Screenshot in the previous post, am going to show the default monthly view screen the other one is a poor example and is misleading imo.

Also I am going to show how you can also view your schedule for the day or any upcoming appointments using hub I think a lot ppl missed this in the thread.

This feature can be viewed by pulling down from the top of the screen in the hub.

Was going to explain why 10.2.1 is the best calendar version however I don't have a screen shot of it to make a comparison

I am really disappointed as well with the new Calendar. I am completely baffled how this piece of software could make it's way into the final OS!

Seriously, what was wrong with the 10.2.1 monthly view? You had bars where you could at least indicate what kind of an appointment you had, when and which time you could clock new appointments. With 10.3.1? We have to select each single day to check what's really going on.
I do not know how these stupid circles and boxes can be more productive vs. the (even though they're small) bars we had until now.

I've attached the same screenshots elsewhere, first same Calendar, events and month on 10.2.1, second on 10.3.1. Only color codings and themes are different.

Hopefully not double-typed with my Q10
I agree with this, hate the grey colour currently on OS 10.3.0 it was easy to understand at a glance once you understood the design cues to see how long roughly an appointment(s) would take out of your day, length = time and colour = calendar / email account associated with that entry.

It's informative, flexible, and highly customizable. BlackBerry ought to be able to produce something comparable. If not, there's definitely an opportunity here for a developer, as TheBirdDog mentioned.

I have to agree, the 10.2.1 calendar was far more functional. I can live with the new one, but I'd definitely prefer that they restore functionality from prior OS'.

Please don't give us this, then there be no difference in using a BlackBerry 10 phone as compared to a Nokia 3320 for appointments.

Ya, I am also baffled by the change. One positive feature in the 10.3.1 calendar is the ability to add Remember tasks right from within the Calendar app, which is great. I just wish they had done that, leaving the UI as it was in 10.2.1. That would have been just great!

No I don't think so coz I think it is a turn backwards. You can't see anything from the month view except a few characters of an appointment.

Still prefer the current one where you can see everything.
