I would like to know what is the bottleneck of a BlackBerry device when is running android apps.

I see that some android apps run smoothly than in an old android device whereas others run worse than in old and low spec android devices

In fact I suppose that the runtime is restricted by the BB10 os in terms of the maximum cpu/memory/threads.... in order to keep the BlackBerry10 core reliable and responsive.

You answered your own question. Add in the fact that most Android apps have moved beyond the supported Android 4.3 built into the runtime, and you end up with slowness.

    I got lost.
Do you mean that many new apps were compiled for latter android versions and though they are still compatible, they run slowly?

Is possible to know for which version of android is an app is optimized?

Sure. If you look at the .apk you can usually find the minimum requirements for that app to run but quite often there will also be "optimized for Android 5.x" for example.

Not really, if the app is looking for a newer api level than what is in the BB10 android runtime, it just won't install.

There are ways to modify the api level of the apk file, but that won't guarantee that it'll work.
