I always hear people talking about runtime why is this necessary, is it so that side loaded apps can run better?

it's so that sideloaded apps can run at all lol, if u have no runtime u can't sideload. and the different versions bring better speed usually, unlocked ones however bring easier sideloading

Think of the runtime as an Android engine inside of BB10 that understands android code. Android apps are built to run on Android OS(Gingerbread, Jellybean, KitKat) .Blackberry made a facility to be able to run android apps on a blackberry. To do this the apps need an engine to run them.

Blackberry 10 uses an Android runtime (engine) that understands the code that the android apps were built for and executes the code. Without the engine(runtime), the car(app) ain't goin nowhere.

    Hope that clears it up

Yup, freight, insurance etc. So you looking at approximately $US853 landed cost.

No hoss, websource does bulk their shipments so the savings is transferred to the customer. The estimator on the website does give the high estimates but actual charges real low, I bring in my Z10 thru them. Paid about the same amount or less.
