I set up my new Z10 in my car after 3 years of good services of my 9800.
As a business user, I have 2000+ contacts stored in my phone. Of course, I don't phone each of them every day but it is useful to have them in my data base, especially the email address.

Anyway, I could set up my 9800 to only synchronise a reduced list of contacts while connected to bluetooth to my car. This list was based on quick dial and the last calls I made.

Is there such option in BB OS10 ? So far it tries to synchronise all my contacts and as expected, it takes aaaaaages and it fails before the end.

    Cheers, Polytan

I'm not sure about syncing select contacts but if you add 999-555-1234 as a contact in you car's phone book and call it, it will activate BlackBerry voice control which will allow you dial anyone in your contacts with your voice.

I didn't know that trick! As it looks like a US number, does it work anywhere? I'll give it a try anyway tomorrow if I can remember

It's not a phone number where it actually dials out. It's a fake number that just activate the blackberry voice control feature on the phone.

I saw this number in another thread here so it may not work with all in-car blue tooth systems

If this doesn't work, then you can also just hold the mute key on the phone to activate BlackBerry voice control. At least it's reasonably easy to feel out the mute key so you don't need to take your eyes off the road to activate it.

I'm also missing this feature. I used to have a subset category just for bluetooth contacts I wanted in the car.

Yeah ! After two years of wait, I eventually have an option in the bluetooth settings to sync a reduction of contacts (or even none).

    This is working with Z30STA100-2/
