On a whim, I bought Blue TouchPad. No regrets.

It basically allows your BlackBerry 10 device to act as an input device for a bluetooth capable device. For instance, I paired my Z10 with my Windows 8.1 tablet; I can now use my Z10 as a mouse touchpad, or, even cooler, use my Z10 keyboard on the tablet. The app also has a media player mode, where instead you have access to play, pause, etc buttons. Needless to say, it works like a charm. The one area where I was worried -- the touchpad itself -- it works perfectly as though my Z10 was a native device.

All in all, at $0.99, it's a great app that functions beautifully. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be glad to test / vet the app (it works so well!)

Saw this in bbworld this morning - I was looking for something exactly like this!

Haven't tried it yet but hoping now I can leave my old Z10 connected to the TV and control it without getting out of bed via my Passport.

I'm actually very curious about this..

Is that not what this app does?

Just paired my Z10 with my Passport and wow, it works.

I get a little mouse pointer on my Z10 that moves when I move my finger on the Passport app screen. Controlling it can get a little laggy though.

That said this is awesome for my needs. Best USD$0.99 I have spent on app.

    A slave to a PC?

I know that a Bluetooth mouse will pair and give you a cursor on screen. It will allow you to "swipe" and use the phone with a mouse.

OK I'm using this on my Z30 to control my Z10 and am having issues with media player controls.
The only buttons that work are play/pause, stop, back(goes to the start of what you are watching/listening to),volume up and volume down. Next works but only for music and not videos.

Rewind, FF, next(for video) and none of the stuff at the top(the 4 arrows with the word OK in the middle) does anything... oh and after hitting stop you can't start it again unless doing the mouse click... won't work through media controls....

    Any input on this?

Saw this yesterday and got it. I must say this is a very useful tool.

My only wish is that it would allow pinch and zoom capabilities.

    This app has been great.
Paired my Q10 with an Android Tablet I have connected with micro-hdmi and it works great and the same with my Windows 7 laptop.

This is like what BlackBerry Bridge was with my old legacy device and my PlayBook.

    Kudos to the developer!

I've had Blue Touchpad for probably over a year now. I first bought it with the hopes that I could hook up my Z10 to a TV HDMI and use my Z30 (and later my Passport) to control it, and as far as media consumption goes (my main purpose in wanting this set up), it has worked amazingly. At one point, I was super disappointed that Android apps would not respond to mouse inputs but the nice folks at Blue TouchPad let me know that was something amiss with BB10 - any bluetooth mouse (Blue TouchPad or otherwise) won't interact with Android apps on BB10. Fortunately, my media watching experience on BB10 is Android-Free.

Fast foward to about a year later, I finally bought a 2-in-1 tablet / laptop on Win 10 and with its built in Bluetooth, when I connect the 2-in-1 to a TV, I can control the computer and the media player of choice (usually either VLC or Kodi/XBMC) from any of my BB10 devices using Blue Touchpad - so my Z10 has graduated (been demoted?) from being the media player, to being the remote control.

The story I want to share that motivated me to write something up today is what happened this morning, though.

For about a month I have been a volunteer in one of these co-working spaces where folks pay a monthly membership and bring in their device and use power and internet to do work and stuff. Freelancers, students, remote workers, that sort of crowd. The volunteers do the clerical stuff, like helping new members get on the wifi or with printing, or giving tours to prospective members, that sort of thing. Today one of the members asked me if there were any spare batteries she could borrow for her wireless apple mouse for her apple pc. I looked around, didn't find any, and instead offered to lend her the corded mouse I had been using with my 2-in-1 - I figured since it had a touch screen, I could get by without a real mouse for a while. "But wait, doesn't your 2-in-1 have a built in track pad?" you are thinking? Well, yes, it does, but I had the 2-in-1 in kiosk mode and raised up high on a box so as to have the screen at eye level, and I had an external full keyboard hooked up, so the track pad was not accessible.

But between you and me, the effort involved in raising my arm to the screen everytime I want to click something, ugh! Then I remembered Blue TouchPad. So I plopped my Passport down to the right of my keyboard, fired up Blue Touchpad on it, paired with the 2-in-1 and voil, I had a trackpad that works awesome and conveniently located where my mouse would normally be.

When the member to whom I had lent my mouse stood up from her desk and saw me do this, she was very impressed and thought aloud excitedly "Oh hey, maybe I can do that too! What kind of phone do you have?" I said "BlackBerry" and then her smile turned into a frown, and she looked dejectedly back at her apple pc's screen and said "Oh." and sat down in silence.

(I tried to hide a grin).
