    Hey guys,

    I know this has already been discussed but I cannot find the thread anymore.

    What will happen with our devices if one leaves BlackBerry Protect activated on his respective BB10 devices after 12/31/2019. I read that it is better to turn Protect off before that date, right?

    No one knows what will happen.... we aren't even sure what services beyond BBW will shutdown.

    It's taught that IF they kill it all... with no BBID or Protect to validate against, it's possible you could be locked out and the phone bricked forever.

    But phones will work without a BBID and Protect... the key will be to disable those while the servers are still there to validate your ID, of the theft protection kicks in.

    One would expect BlackBerry to offer more info, as the time for an ending draws near....

    Have you used the chimera tools with a BB10 device?

    I've seen people say it should work... just no one that personally did it.
