BlackBerry Protect not working, should I remove from account?

Blackberry Protect stopped working randomly about 6 weeks ago.
The location finder gives a message that location services needs to be on (which it is)... Also anti-theft protection shows as 'unavailable'.

Blackberry protect and location services is enabled on the phone.

What can I do to trigger this back on again?

What happens if I login to the website and remove the device from 'my devices'? What is the effect on the phone side?

Should I remove it and then re-add it?

You can try to remove and readd it. it's pretty much the equivalent of turning it off and on, so it doesn't really do much, though, it might help.

Turn it off on the phone side then remove it from the website. Reboot the device and then re add it and see
