But why would they do that? BIS did cost money, but within BIS we had everything.. email, bbm, protect you name it.. now that BIS is no longer needed, we still have everything but now still for free: email, bbm, but a half baked protect..

I don't know if BlackBerry is willing to make a premium protect..

I'm willing to have a "BlackBerry" plan that has BIS and full Protect, but on BB10.

The whole "no blackberry plan" anymore is so that carriers don't get a piece of the pie and overcharge people.
BUT carriers still get pie, and even more overcharge without BIS. There's no difference.

Use "Privacy concerns" as a selling point to bring back BIS, but on BB10.

It really is unbelievable that BlackBerry Protect doesn't back up your contacts anymore. I had to factory reset my phone and lost all my numbers because the sync with Google Mail just hadn't worked. Livid is not the word! This is a must-have feature that should return.
