I love using glympse - now built into BBM. It's handy when I'm travelling home from work and want to rendezvous with a workmate (or my wife) who are also on the move. We both fire up glympse and we can find eachother easily.

I had the thought today. Why not integrate Glympse into BlackBerry Protect.

At the moment, when you trace a lost or stolen item through protect.blackberry.com, it can locate your device on a static map. Wouldn't it be so much better if BlackBerry Protect could automatically invoke a glympse session on the target device and display live tracking of the lost or stolen device?

Better still, incorporate this into a BlackBerry Protect Application, so I can trace my lost device from my wife's phone etc.

    Just an idea

Never heard of glimpse, is that a separate app? I don't see it in bbm.

    That's brilliant.

I'm also a huge fan of Glympse. It was super convenient this past week with picking up family at the airport and navigating day trips into DC.

If you hit the trombone icon in the newer version of BBM, you'll see a 'G' right to the mic icon, this let you share your live location with a contact.

Edit: by trombone I meant the paperclip icon

Yes that is correct, but dude, that's a paperclip, not a trombone. Thanks for just making my day. Lmao

LOL my bad, in french they're called trombone, so I went to google translate and translated trombone from French to English and it said (to my surprise) that it was also called trombone in English. Anyway, I meant paperclip! LOL again, really feel stupid now...

Edit: thinking about it now, a trombone in English only means the music instrument, WTF was I thinking lol.

Tap the attach key (trombone as state above???). It will bring up a menu. Hit the 'G' and share.

Also you have to be in a chat window which also through me off. anyhow, i don't have much use for it since i only have about 2 contacts left...but i do like the idea of integrating it with blackberry protect though.
