    Do I've been trying to turn on BlackBerry Protect since launch but every time I do I get the same pop up message that says "Unable to connect to the BlackBerry Protect Service"... anyone else experiencing this or have any advice for me?

    Mine works fine too. I was able to use the locate phone feature on the BB Protect website. Found my phone's location just fine.

    Sorry, don't have any suggestions.

    Nice! Even though I had done this before, I just restarted the Z10 and BlackBerry Protect works! Looks like some legacy BBOS techniques are still useful on BB10.

    Yes mine works.

    Yes, I was indoor and it located my phone pretty much exactly where it was. I was also able to play the sound. If your phone is nearby, that sound will make it easy to find your phone.

    rdcanuck, I'm connected to my wifi network and Protect still works, for me at least.

    It works but unfortunately it doesn't do much anymore since it doesn't backup anything anymore

    I've had the same issue once but it allows me to turn it back on now!! I guess just do a reboot and try again!!

    Mine works great.

    Will location services only turn on and eat up data when you utilize Protect services from the web or will it continually eat up data no matter what?

    nope mine has not worked since day 1, have a case open with BB but they cannot seem to fix it and it looks like i will have to start a new BB ID.
