I recently had a problem with my phone where I forgot my phone password as I was using a picture password. My little guy kept trying to access the phone until it went into the mose where it asked for the device password which I could not remember. After the 10 tries it wiped my phone. I wasn't to worried as I remembered that BlackBerry Protect would have backups. But was I ever wrong, being a longtime BlackBerry user I assumed that I had device backups like on my 9900 or 9700 phone. No such luck in BB 10. So now that I lost all my stuff, in particular password keeper, I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good backup app that will not require me to have to connect to a computer to backup phone.

As far as I know the only way to do a complete, restorable BB10 backup is by using BlackBerry Link on a Mac or PC. If you just want to backup your contacts, documents and media (no accounts, settings, etc.) to the Cloud have a look at Backup Pro in BlackBerry World.

Protect on BB10 doesn't backup data. As the previous post said you have to use Link, or if you use cloud accounts or storage your data will be there as well.
