BlackBerry should consider changing to Nano SIM cards since Apple is using them. It would make it easier for Apple users to switch to BlackBerry, vice-versa.

That would be convenient, getting my iPhone sim into the z10 was kind of a hassle

Good point. It seems like a small detail but having to order a new sim card when switching from an iPhone to a blackberry could make people change their minds. Remember: people are lazy.

New SIMS can be ordered online and activated in minutes. No big hassle.
BB10 users are not so lazy

Most phones excepting Apple and a couple of Nokias are Micro SIM and it makes interchanging between those devices much easier.

Apple does it for a money grab, every phone uses micro USB and apple doesn't and then they change to the lighting cable. Phone companies tried to make it all the same to make it easier to customer and cost effective but apple always has to be different. Bunch of *****

Apple needs to conform to the rest of the world and not everyone else make it work just for Apple

I'd say Stay away from adopting *anything* coming from Apple... BlackBerry is all about standards, and that's how it should be IMHO.. Let the other fruit do their things... carriers should have SIMs available in any relevant sizes and should not be a problem to get one that fits either device

No thank you. Like SD cards, the smaller they are, the trickier they are to insert and remove from the device. Unless there is a manufacturing or at least an aesthetic advantage to using the smaller card, maybe, but not "just to be like Apple".

Most other manufacturers wanted something different then the nano-SIM. The nano doesn't even meet the requirements but they bought the votes and had it brought in despite the fact that there were better more advanced designs being proposed.

Apple owns the copyright to the nano-sim (which is just a normal Sim with Moore plastic cut off then the mico) In order to get it approved Apple agreed to let people use it without charging royalties....but they aren't giving away the nano-sim tray for free. That?s why most manufacturers are just ignoring the nano standard. When this happened a few years ago it created a big controversy with people worrying that the other major manufacturers would juust make their own standard and the international standard would be split. That didn't happen, they just decided not to use it instead

But this is not their company plan even form the beginning, not to conform.

Virtually all other devices use microSIM instead of nanoSIM. This inconvenience is only for users who change from Apple. All other who use Android or other phones are many more and therefore a switch to nanoSIM would create more inconvenience for more people. Complain to Apple instead why they cannot follow a standard.

Don't think this matters for over 90 percent of phone purchasers especially in the US. You either go to a store to get a new phone or you order online from the provider and receive a phone and SIM that works in it which you (or the store) activate switching your number and account to that SIM.
