Just would like to share my thoughts on how much of a let OS 10.2.1.1925 has been.

Fair enough there are some nice new features however there is no reliability with BlackBerry 10 OS!

Nice new polished features and tricks up its sleeve and then there's a catch a compromise of some sort. E.g. Disgraceful battery life, calls dropping, random reboots etc

I wish it just worked rather than having to load leaks and leaked radio files which brick your phone and what not.

Why are apple and android so successful? Nothing to do with the hardware; it's because their OS actually performs and works and is also released on time!

BlackBerry please pull your finger out and invest some real money into making a reliable OS!

I have been loyal to BlackBerry and continue to be but it would be nice for things to simply work.

    Rant over.

i can understand your frustration but if you think android and apple users dont have problems with their OS updates you are sadly mistaken. It happens just like bb10. Its the fact bb10 has a smaller user base so when there is a problem everyone gets to hear about it. Sure you have had some problem but i ran the same OS leak and its perfect havent had an issue and the phone has been rock solid. So its like throwing the baby out with the bath water. Just because a few people have issues doenst mean everyone has rendered there phone useles. Sure there are problems but for most people are just enjoying tehere phone without issue. Most people dont report any issues. Its always the people with some issue that are the most vocal. The OS is superb and its alot more complicated under neath the covers then apple or android so this is why we do have issues its because in order to have those levels of security you have to sacrifice a few things. Does Obama carry and Iphone or and android phone? Nope and he is not even allowed to do so. So yes there might be issues but its usually in the name of what blackberry represents and thats security. So if your copy of angry birds doesnt open be happy with the fact that at least your phone isnt getting hacked.

OP, here's a suggestion, don't load the leaks and wait for the official release. Loading leaks is at your own risk. Don't blame BlackBerry when your phone acts up on a leaked OS.

My z30 has been running truly amazing since the last official OS.

You do realize that those without issues are on the leak and those with issues are ones that updated OTA?

No I didn't realise that the leak was 100% problem free and the official release was plagued with issues.

I'll be sure to load a leaked OS next time and contribute to one of many threads always being posted about problems with a leaked OS.

No leaks here, OTA update. OS running fine, improved battery life, faster, not more reliable only because it wasn't unreliable before the update.

10.2.1 still has some bugs to be fixed but lets get things into context,
I have access to some android phones including a moto g on kitkat.
Id say the moto g has more bugs, it has the bugs that were fixed in BlackBerry 10.1 MR.
    Same bugs?
Well in a lot of cases yes.
It seems a lot of phones and new car head units have bluetooth connection issues?
It seems a lot of phones have issues with loosing carrier signal and getting better after reboot.
It seems a lot of phones have problems connecting to certain routers.
BlackBerry 10 has had issues in theses areas - all I can say is it is at least as good as android on the devices ive seen now

I understand your frustration, although I do not have these issues with my Z10.

I think that your issues can be fixed by wiping and reinstalling the phone from scratch without restoring a backup...

So what happens to all my data gathered over the years if I follow your prescription?

Truth is BB10 needs to be more reliable. Whenever I go to device password, my lock screen time reverts to 15 minutes. My picture password doesn't play well with my company's policy that all devices accessing corporate emails must have a password set, so sometimes I see the picture password option, sometimes I don't. When I do see the picture password setting, the option for turning on device password is active and I can change it, which shouldn't be the case due to the policy set.

Bottom line: BlackBerry has to sit up and release an OS or update that WORKS!

PS: I'm running an official 10.2.1.1925, never ran a leak in my life...

All my Z10's and my Q5 have worked without problems with both OTA's and leaked OS's.

I had a few blunders when I started loading leaked OS's but all the problems I've had have been caused by nobody but myself! Sitting late at night with a new OS and trying to take shortcuts to hurry the backup, installation and restore process up is asking for problems.

I've never created a mess that wasn't easily fixed, with a bit/lot of extra time.

Do it right, do it once.

10.2.1.529 works great in our company. No one has mentioned problems with their Z10, Q10 or Z30. Believe me, I would hear about it. Maybe it is because of all your messing around with radios and leaks. Do a clean install and stop messing with the OS.

Is the OP aware that Apple has entire shops dedicated to fixing broken iPhones? I only last had to go to my phone shop to get a sim (to download 10.2.1) and saw two people come in with Galaxy phones that had broken. With due respect, I don't think you realise that the other phone companies have their issues too.

Not true. I have a test device to load leaks when they are thought to be close to complete. I loaded 10.2.1.1925 leak. When I checked for updates on this device, it downloded 40 MB of updates for the same OS version. There was something in the 40MB so it isn't exactly the same.

Growing pains. That what happens with new things. Have to either accept it or get something already proven. I hear you OP seems they always fix one thing only to create 5 new bugs. It would be nice to get at least one update that fixes things and doesn't break something else in the process.

Perfect doesn't exist, in any product. Also just because you have a problem, doesn't mean everyone has the same problem, statements like this makes me crazy. Rather than bashing perhaps ask for help, wouldn't it be better to find a solution than finding yourself in conversations like these.

If something was added/changed in the code, the software version also changes.

At top is the OS.signed from the 1925 leak back in December. At bottom is the signed file on BB servers for 10.2.1.537.

    So yeah, it's been done.

    At least someone agrees!

Why should we have to rely on leaks all the time for our devices to function correctly.

I love BlackBerry and my Z10.

Just wish it was robust and reliable.

What has that got to do with anything. Every official build may be leaked before release. Not every leak will be an official release.
