Its not really February, its more than that if you don't want to be guinea pig and let others update first. Then go read the whine threads on these forums how something doesn't work right and wait for that three decimal increment 10.3.1.XXX update to fix all those things. You are looking spring most likely.

If it's February and it comes to every device (including American carriers), then it was actually finished now and merely required the approval of the special snowflake carriers. If America still has to wait, then BlackBerry really screwed something up while developing 10.3.1 if the all-device optimization takes this long.

We're almost there. Feb is not that far away. 10.2.1 is still an excellent build IMO. It's not like we are on 10.1 and waiting for 10.3.1 to come down. That would suck.
but 10.3.1 is here already Just LOAD it.
    Why wait?

Wel then i know a LOT of friends who will no longer be on BlackBerry...
Yez they can run leaks (i do use them). But BlackBerry is late again on the software part and this for a company who is aiming @ software?

I won't switch but a lot of people will...
Really, your friends will leave Blackberry if 10.3.1 doesn't come out quasi-immediately? Are they still on an out-of-the-box 10.1 release and don't know how to look for software updates? Is there something in 10.2.1 besides Blend that's missing that is so critically important, they'll leave BB for an inferior operating system that lacks the capability to do some of the things BB currently allows them to do?

This is like screaming about not being able to watch last night's episode of _____ and threatening to drop Netflix/Hulu/Roku/etc. to go to cable. It's a complete and total overreaction.

And, I think, a wee bit of an over-exaggeration of the situation.

16 days since I loaded 10.3.1.1154. Some sound issues in the first week but has been a great experience thereafter on my Z3. It took time to settle and now it lasts for two days on normal use. I think we can trust this update and rely on until official release.

I can't understand all the complaining... I'd rather wait a few more month for the replacement of my actually pretty new and smooth OS 10.2.1 than switching to Android or iOS.
BlackBerry, please take your time to make 10.3.1 perfect!
Anyway I'll "blitz" the latest leak during the holidays. :-D Maybe next weekend is another "leakend"... :-D

    "Pretty new and smooth"

I will give you the latter, but the 10.2.1 OS dropped in Jan this year. So it's a couple days away from being 1 year old. That not new

Feb. So after the Z10 is 2 years old it will officially get 10.3.1. that didn't take long
i.e 2 months after the 10.3 OS, dedicated to two specific devices - with both technical specifications as important as a new screen ratio and device interaction control (touch keyboard, belt) which alone are almost antithetical with UI paradigm - is released and so far judged as stable and efficient.

Many brands will not even bother to offer it on 2 years old devices (sounds familiar to some food named OS ? ). Luckily BlackBerry devices are meant to last and we'll get it before babe's tears dry.

This thread goes so unreal I'm really lost to sort jokes from rants.

You've seen number of builds per day. I'm guessing that they have some problems with 10.3.1 optimization.

I'm just glad to know 10.3.1 is coming to 2 year old devices with 4 year old hardware.

That's quite impressive to me actually.

Well I was going more by iOS 4 to 5 etc. Android? I don't know about OS numbering, just desserts. I guess bb uses .0 or .0.0 to distinguish major updates? Keep in mind the others seem to get timely bug fixes in between too. But as long as leaks keep coming and fix things it's no big deal unless you don't do them.

Or stubbornness of the American carriers. If they used the same OSs as the rest of the world I wouldn't need 700+ GB of storage for all these OSs...

10.3.0 will not continue to exist in future releases. It was only beta testing software, 10.3.1 is what's coming to the passport next.

Somebody pointed out that Apple gets an update once a year every fall, and Android twice a year.

Guess how many OS updates we got in 2 years.

Saying "Android" got 2 updates in a year is a gross oversimplification of the situation

It's also worth pointing out Android updates don't happen for every phone. I've been saddled with two, and both times an update would come out that my 18 month old Android device was too old for. Their solution? "You should buy the latest Android!" So I can do it again in another 18 months?

Better my sister in a whorehouse than my brother with an Android.
