By letting new users of Z30 have OS 10.2, I feel deceived.

I don't understand why their Q10 and Z10 customers that where the first supporting their turn around and believing in Blackberry new OS should be the last getting their latest OS.

And the above only if carriers approved the new OS.

I believe that their behavior shows a lack of loyalty to millions of users that standed by Blackberry y buying the Q10 and Z10.

I believe that this is exactly how they should not treat a customer base.

Talk to your carrier, that is where your update is held up at, not BlackBerry....and if you want a more recent os, check the forums and download a leak...lots of good stuff there....

I believe 10.2 will roll out mid-october, so that means my carrier doesn't have it yet or has an embargo to release the software.

With all due respect, leak versions are not the solution.

This isnt a blackberry thing at all. Android has the same thing happen. It all goes thru the carrier. You might even see some carriers releasing 10.2 this week.

There is nothing deceiving about this. They would foolish to release a new phone with an old OS. Besides you can't tell me you don't know how it works by now. Carriers, carriers, carriers. Just relax and 10.2 will be running on your device before you know it and you'll be complaining about not having 10.3.

When BlackBerry Q10 came out it had the 10.1 OS and BlackBerry Z10 was behind it.

Very true. I don't understand why these companies can't control their own updates like Apple does. When they push an update everyone with a compatible device gets it right? So why can't everyone do it??

Apple has the leverage to do it. BlackBerry is in no position to make demands of carriers.

I am not an engineer I have no idea what it takes to develop the updates. BB is not a small company, if Apple controls the hardware and the software. Why BB can't do it?
I just installed a leak update and my Q10 and everything is great.

I have a feeling apple just has carriers sitting on ios updates until everyone is ready to release it rather than staggered like BlackBerry and android.

Ok, then for BlackBerry new customers are more important than the ones that first bought Z10, Q10 and Q5. I got that clear a few weeks ago.

Z30 owners get 10.2 right away.

But me with a Q10.. I just have to wait. That is a curious policy, and that is what I want to point out and I feel deceived by such policy.

The leader of the industry doesn't do that. For the contrary, they roll their updates OTA at the same time for new and legacy users. I wonder why they are the leaders.

If some of you are fine with that and have enough time and believe is worth the effort to install leaks, I respect it.

I was expecting a lot more for the new BlackBerry when it comes to be respectfull to their new OS10 current customer base (Z10, Q10 and Q5).

I hope that all the providers will push the update for BB10 phones, just because BB10.2 is allready validated for the Z30.

But they announce a new OS with a ballpark release date, then a firm release date several weeks later. On that date it's pushed to every phone. Carriers can't be sitting on them because developers are getting betas right up until the final release. All the dates seem to be at the direction of Apple. Why can't they all do it?

Approx 3 weeks after Z30 release date 10.2 will be available from carriers for z10 q10 and q5.
    Like what happened with 10.1.

That seems pretty fair to me BlackBerry seem to be trying to push this out asap.

3 months later and you would have a point!

The three-week delay is arbitrary and therefore unnecessary. BlackBerry management continues playing games with its users. BlackBerry management might consider the wireless carriers to be their customers not the actual product end-users. This is a dangerous attitude because without the end-users the wireless carriers won't carry any BlackBerry smartphones.

How about people that still have old *** legacy devices go out and update to BB10. Holding on to that old device does not represent loyalty to this company just means you are cheap or can't use new tech.

And that's a major problem. Either because (and this list isn't exhaustive):
    - they are corporate owned and the company isn't buying into BB10 yet
    - BlackBerry has not been able to differentiate their products from the duopoly and customers don't want to change
    - Still on contract and don't want to lay out too much for a new device from a company that isn't exactly setting the world on fire
    - they have multiple devices; a 9900 for work and an iPhone or Android for personal use

There are a lot of reasons and the answer isn't that simple.
