I recently updated to 10.2.424 through Telus. But now I'm not able to access my home computer through the File Manager app and BlackBerry Link. It worked perfect before and is an amazing feature. Anyone else have this issue? Or a fix??

    Thanks,

I've been having some minor issues with accessing my work PC using Link as well. Haven't found a fix for it.

Turn Wifi off and then back on.
It also it might help if you gave a static ip to your device in your wireless router.

Yes true, I'm talking about accessing it over the mobile network. When I'm home I connect thru Windows Explorer and my static IP

Ya I can't get it to connect over the mobile network either.

As far as I know, that's been buggy since the original release. I was really hoping they would fix that as its a great feature.

I haven't tried accessing it while connected to my home network, but it was working fine with 10.1. Hopefully 10.2 hasn't screweed it up.

Right now I see my laptop in the file manager but it won't load any files.

Also, do ios and droid have similar native functionality ?

Make sure you've allowed "connect over mobile network" in your settings in case it was reset in the upgrade. Also, maybe toggle off/on the "remote access" check box in Link on your home PC.

Remote file access....a feature based entirely on convenience and reliability...yet in its execution and delivery, proves to be neither.

Back to the drawing board BlackBerry. The code you have isn't working consistently at ALL.

To access files on your computer you can use also Dropbox /Box
    Both have a desktop application.
You can just copy/save the files directly to the Dropbox/Box folder in your computer and you can access them over internet with your device.

Yeah Box and DropBox are good. But I'd rather access my own drives and not store my info on some random server.

If you are on windows you can use their service Sky Drive. It is not integrated with BlackBerry yet but "resolves" the security issue since Microsoft may already have a copy of everything you have on your computer.
