I'm signed into my Blackberry ID but I still get this message. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I downloaded and installed the newest leak for the Z30, but I've had a few restoring problems and have reverted back to 10.2.1 but now I have received this error. pos

I'm having the same problem.

It happened after I loaded 10.3.1.1151 on my Z30 using an autoloader.

But it's still happening now that I reinstalled the latest official OS for my carrier and device (10.2.1.3442).

Because of this, all my backups are useless.

I Hope someone finds a solution.

Did you guys setup bbid during setup? Also did you know you can use sachesi to backup and restore to your phone.

I have same problem. I had posted it on the regular bb10 hub forum, as I thought it was a problem with my phone. Turns out, others have this problem as well.

Sachesi nor link will restore unless bbid is signed in. Although it looks like it is signed in, it's BlackBerry Protect that is not complete (it spins, and you can't toggle it)

You can't (or shouldn't try to) restore a newer backup to an older os...Code is different/older.

Try upgrading Link via installing Blend. Appears the most viable solution beyond screwing with BlackBerry Protect online.

UPDATE: I came home from work today, popped in the micro USB and my phone BB ID synced with BB Link with no problem or explanation. I've come to the conclusion that BlackBerry link is a piece of s*** (which we all knew). The more I use it, the more bug/problems I've seen. I eventually went back to 10.3.1.1151 because the 10.2.1 OS was I downloaded from an online source wasn't compatible with my data/contacts backup restore but everything else was (media, apps) oddly.

My best suggestion is to make sure your BlackBerry Link is fully updated to the latest version 1.2.3.56. When I wrote this thread mine was 1.2.2. until I updated. It still failed when I updated but maybe time or a later re-opening matured the glitch. If you have update problems with BB Link: I originally did and went through a process to delete and update let me know. Make sure your phone has Wi-Fi on and you sign into your router upon a new auto-install and always input your BlackBerry ID. Good luck everyone

Ensure that you can get BB Protect connected. I had the same issue with Passport and once I got Protect working I could then restore from Link. Had to delete my Protect account and create a new one. Eventually it connected but took a bit.

I just got my Passport and gave up my Z10 thinking BB Protect will help me restore everything. Except, when I go to BB Protect, it says "Use BB Link"... W T F?

What do I do now?

BlackBerry protect does not backup ore restore anything. You have to backup your old device through BlackBerry link

You shouldn't try to restore a 10.3 backup to 10.2.1... you are mixing different os codes...asking for trouble...

There is NO fix for a 10.3.1 backup to work on a 10.2.1 os...it just won't work. The software has too many differences...
10.3.1 backups work on 10.3.1...
10.2.1 backups work on 10.2.1...
Once you put a Cadillac engine in a car, Volkswagen engine parts won't work...even if it used to have a Volkswagen engine before.
