My phone connects to BlackBerry Link fine wireless... but when I plug it in (which I need to do to back it up), it doesn't see it. it acts as if I never plugged anything in. Any suggestions? What can I do? I'm on a windows 8.1 computer by the way. And yes, blackberry link is updated.

It might be the USB cable or the driver needed for the software to recognize the device - you can download the driver from BlackBerry directly.

Does it even recognize a generic USB device or is it truly nothing at all? Double check your Storage and Access settings for USB connection - I have mine set for auto detect.

I have to delete or reload or "fix" BBLink every time I do a backup! This has happened ever since I had to reinstall the OS! It works fine on my laptop but not my desktop!

It does charge the phone, but that's all it does.

Same here. Uninstall every BlackBerry software using control panel, run a cleaning tool like CCLEANER And reboot both devices.

Plug them together using a USB 2.0 port and allow the decide to install drivers and link.

Should have you covered.... till Link breaks again.

DO remember to copy your backup files, I don't know if they will survive the process or not!

I have had similar problem with some USB cables. Switched cable and it worked.
